Conversations With A Little Girl

Recently I went in to check on Esther during her Quiet Time.  She was curled up on my bed with her blanket neatly laid beneath her.  As I sat next to her, she said, "I am waiting for my prince" with a great big smile.  As I wrapped her blanket around her, she politely informed me "my Prince is going to do that."  So then I had to ask,.... "are you going to marry your Prince?"  A great big smile came as she replied,  "Yes, when he comes and flies me to the castle.  It's ok, I will be safe.  He will take care of me."

YIKES.  Apparently at the age of 3 Esther has it all worked out!  I didn't expect the need to begin training on courting at such an early age.

We have been hearing about this Prince for a long time now.  We have even had the privilege of meeting him.  Apparently he can be in the room and us adults wouldn't even know it!!  Of course we want this Prince to be a man of good and Godly character.  Lord give us wisdom as we raise our girls. =)

E-S-T-H-E-R

Esther was playing quietly on her easel. When she said "I spelt my name". We looked up and she has drawn the E and S, ran out of space and moved up and finished the rest of her name... A very happy moment for all of us!

the cleansing

This was supposed to be last, they are all clean post-bath...having fun in "the boat".

Esther put bubbles on her chin calling it her "beard" and wouldn't move her mouth when she talked, she would squeek words threw her tightly clinched jaw.

And Gracie with her goatee. It all started with blowing bubbles to facial hair.

Little more snow

Two girls, one vest

Don't they look ecstatic! The things they will put up with so that Papa can get a picture.

Painting creations

Esther "I colored lots of things. Grass and a tent and all kinds of stuff. I got lots of stuff! The sunshine and a curly, and now a scribble."

Esther "This is the cross that Jesus died on. And now I colored curlies, just like my hair!"

As Gracie was coloring on the yellow paper she drew the curlie-cue in the middle and then exclaimed "schicx" (six).

As Esther painted this picture she began telling the story, so Amy thought she would jot it down. "A tent on grass with blue sky. The sun went down, now it is dark. The sun comes up, see- there is the sun. now there is light. And there is a scribble."

Binky Free

Gracie has said "good-bye" to the "nink-nink." It was not truly a deliberate decision, actually I couldn't find it at nap time and thus the decision!  She has done great!!  That first nap time was very sad, and then at bedtime she asked for it, and I exclaimed "you're a big girl now!!" and she smiled.  And there it is... the life and times of a waddler.

C O L D

It has been very cold out here in Walla Walla. We all went exploring out in the hills and there was a lot of frost built up on everything, including this post.... exciting I know!

Sisters

Esther drew our "flamily". Amy is on the left (wearing a "dress"), I am next wearing a shirt and pants, then Esther and grace on the right of me, both wearing "dresses".

Esther and I work on her silly faces from time to time, this is her "trucker thumbs-up" look.

Oh Grace...
